WELCOME TO THE Silver Lining Ministries Homepage
Silver
Lining Ministries is getting ready to take another step. Pray for this
ministry as we seek the Lord for direction.
It seems there is a lot of "stuff" out there that is touted as the
Gospel but is far from it. Mathew 7 brings forward a group of people who
are in dire straights. They profess to have done wonderful deeds in the
name of Jesus, even prophesying and casting out demons, but He commands
them to depart for He never knew them.
These people are the focus of this ministry. They are not from "out
there". They are those from within who thought they were saved and found
out too late they were not. One can dwell in the midst of miracles and
wonder and be lost because the focus is on the miracles instead of the
Miracle Worker. I am afraid there are many being added to this
unfortunate group daily by leaders in so called "successful" churches
today because they have an agenda instead of a ministry and as a
result the true gospel gets pushed aside and is replaced by a "tickling
of the ears" or a trumped up orgy of emotion that passes for the moving
of the Spirit. As a result, we read of the terrified souls standing
before Jesus in Mathew 7:23.
When the Spirit moves on a group of people there will be an outpouring of
emotion but I believe the genuine is far less prevalent today than some
would have us believe.
In his book A Heart Ablaze, John Bevere states the following concerning
too many churches over the last few years.
"The emphasis has been on communicating God's promises and
provisions, rather than His character and nature, to draw people to Him.
Our messages have attracted people to a better lifestyle accompanied by
eternal security instead of drawing them to know and serve the Lord of
Glory. Many ministers are careful to deliver a positive message that
will attract the multitudes; they forgo a strong, reproving message that
will bring the changes we need to face a holy God."
Lord
help me preach the Gospel straight and true that men may hear "Well done
thou good and faithful servant."
1Th
3:13 - To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness
before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with
all his saints.
